GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love shared a significant personal milestone with fans on New Year’s Day, announcing that he and his fiancée, Ronika Stone, are expecting their first child. The news comes at a pivotal moment for the 27-year-old signal-caller, who is currently navigating the final stages of the NFL’s concussion protocol following an injury sustained in late December.
The couple made the joint announcement via social media, posting a series of photos featuring ultrasound images and a caption celebrating the start of 2026 with the addition to their family. Stone, a professional volleyball player and the daughter of former NFL Pro Bowler Ron Stone, has been a visible supporter of Love throughout his tenure as the Packers’ starting quarterback.
While the news provided a celebratory spark for the Green Bay community, Love’s primary professional focus remains on his health and availability for the postseason. Love has been sidelined since suffering a concussion during a Week 16 overtime loss to the Chicago Bears. The injury forced him to miss the Packers’ Week 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, where the team utilized a combination of Malik Willis and Clayton Tune under center.
Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed earlier this week that Love has made “positive strides” in his recovery. As of Wednesday, Love was a full participant in practice, though he remained in the final “non-contact” phase of the league’s five-step return-to-participation protocol. His status for the regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings—and more importantly, the Wild Card round—remains contingent on final clearance from an independent neurological consultant.
“It’s a big year for Jordan, both on and off the field,” LaFleur said during his Wednesday media availability. “We’re thrilled for him and Ronika. At the same time, our medical staff is being diligent to ensure he’s 100 percent ready before he steps back into the huddle.”
The Packers have already clinched the NFC’s seventh seed, leading to speculation that the team may choose to rest Love for the Week 18 contest regardless of his clearance status. The addition of veteran Desmond Ridder to the practice squad earlier this week provided the organization with further insurance should they opt for a cautious approach.
Love’s 2025 campaign has been a statistically productive one, following his massive contract extension in the 2024 offseason. As he prepares for fatherhood, the Packers’ franchise leader is aiming to lead his team back to a deep playoff run, mirroring the success of his debut season as a starter.
